Crypto Fund & Institutional Digital-Assets

My story in cryptocurrency began in 2014 when the unfortunate event of the Mt.Gox bitcoin hack was making the news and headlining various websites. From there I learned about bitcoin and began to casually follow it. At the time I was running a hedge fund administrator, which I founded, with about $13 billion in assets under administration.
It wouldn't be until the early part of 2017 when bitcoin would touch our business. We were approached by a Portfolio Manager who was incubating a quantitative BTC hedge fund seeded by one of the largest bitcoin holders in the world. During that year I learned as much as possible about how cryptocurrency had created its own capital markets and how my firm could fit in from an institutional perspective.
By the end of 2017 we had developed our first crypto fund administration product and lined up our technology systems to power it. January 1st, 2018 I launched Quantreq as a separate digital-assets-only capital markets firm and the worlds first crypto-only fund administrator. Since that time our reach in the institutional digital-assets space has grown immensely. I have advised, educated and Quantreq has administered nearly 1 out of 4 crypto hedge fund launches globally. Additionally, I provide education to HNW individuals, Family Offices, Corporate Pensions, Endowments and even a sovereign wealth fund.
In 2019 we stood fast as the digital-asset market slowly rebounded from the 'Crypto Winter' of Q4 2018 and saw the crypto fund space regather its momentum. Now with 2020 right around the corner I believe great things will further excite the institutional side of digital-assets and we are seeing some of those things happening already.
